Senda Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 2, 2026

Senda is a pedometer and activity-sharing app that helps you view walking activity, create saved ranges, use home screen widgets, calculate goals and streaks, and create shareable activity images or videos.

Senda is operated by its developer, an individual entrepreneur registered in the Republic of Armenia. In this Privacy Policy, “Senda,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Senda app.

Information We Collect

Health and Activity Data

With your permission, Senda reads step count, walking/running distance, and flights climbed from Apple HealthKit. Senda uses this data to show your activity in the app, create charts and summaries, power widgets, calculate goals and streaks, and generate shareable images or videos.

Senda does not sell HealthKit data, use HealthKit data for advertising, or share HealthKit data with data brokers.

Most HealthKit and activity processing happens on your device. Senda may store selected activity summaries locally on your device and in the app group container so widgets can display current activity.

If you use account-based sync, Senda stores user-created saved range data in Firebase Firestore. This may include range start and end dates, labels, icons, colors, notes, goals, whether a range is ongoing, precise start and finish timestamps, step/distance/flights snapshots captured at the start or end of a precise range, and cached step/distance/flights totals for finalized ranges.

Senda does not sync your full daily HealthKit history to Firebase.

Motion Data

With your permission, Senda may use Core Motion pedometer data to keep live step counts responsive, including in widgets. Motion data is used for activity display and widget functionality.

Account Information

If you sign in, Senda uses Firebase Authentication and supported sign-in providers such as Apple, Google, and email link sign-in.

Depending on the sign-in method, Firebase or the sign-in provider may process account identifiers, email address, display name, authentication credentials, and related sign-in metadata.

Saved App Data

Senda may store app settings and preferences locally on your device, including onboarding status, display settings, haptics settings, distance unit, widget-related data, cached step summaries, goal settings, notification settings, and other app preferences.

If you are signed in, some app data may be synced with Firebase Firestore, including saved ranges, daily step goal settings, whether to show your daily goal, and whether goal notifications are enabled.

Support and Feedback Messages

If you submit support, feedback, or bug reports from the app or website, we collect the message you send, category, optional reply email, account context if you are signed in, device model, iOS version, app version, build number, source screen, and submission time.

Support messages are stored in Firebase Firestore and may be forwarded by email through Resend so we can respond.

To protect the support form from abuse, we may process and store a hashed version of your IP address for rate limiting.

Photos, Camera, Exports, and Sharing

If you grant access, Senda may use your camera or photo library so you can choose backgrounds, create shareable activity visuals, save exports to Photos, or share content through the iOS share sheet or Instagram Stories.

Photos and exported media are processed for the features you choose. Senda does not upload your photos or exported media to our servers as part of these features.

When you share to another app or service, that service handles the content under its own privacy policy.

Analytics and Diagnostics

Senda uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve the product. Analytics may include app opens, screen views, share actions, sign-in flow events, saved range creation, chart interaction events, widget gallery views, sticker placement, export actions, source screens, methods, sticker designs, selected non-value sticker configuration options, and similar product interaction data.

Senda does not send raw daily HealthKit history, exact saved range start/end dates, step counts, walking/running distance, flights climbed, precise range boundary snapshots, or cached range totals to Firebase Analytics. Some of this information may be stored in Firebase Firestore only when needed for account-based sync, as described above.

When you are signed in, Senda may set your Firebase user ID for analytics so we can understand usage across sessions. Firebase and the operating system may also collect device, app, and diagnostic information needed to provide analytics, reliability, and system-level diagnostic functionality.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide app features, charts, widgets, saved ranges, goals, streaks, and share/export tools.
  • Sync account-backed settings and saved ranges.
  • Authenticate users and manage accounts.
  • Respond to support, feedback, and bug reports.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, including support form rate limiting.
  • Understand feature usage and improve app reliability and design.
  • Comply with legal, security, and App Store requirements.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share or process information with service providers that help operate Senda, including:

  • Apple frameworks and services used by the app, including HealthKit, Core Motion, Sign in with Apple, Photos, widgets, notifications, and App Store systems.
  • Firebase and Google services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, and related infrastructure.
  • Google Sign-In, if you choose to use it.
  • Resend, for sending support messages to our support inbox.
  • Third-party apps or services you choose to share content with, such as Instagram or the iOS share sheet.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Senda, operate support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the app.

Health and motion data used for app display is primarily processed on your device. Local app data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear device data.

Account-backed data remains in Firebase while your account is active unless you delete it earlier. This includes synced saved ranges and synced app settings.

Support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for support history, debugging, abuse prevention, and legal recordkeeping.

Analytics data is retained according to our Firebase/Google retention settings and may be kept in aggregated form after individual identifiers are removed or no longer needed.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account from within Senda.

Account deletion removes your Firebase Authentication account and deletes account-backed Firestore data such as your user document and saved ranges.

Local data on your device may remain until you delete the app or clear device data. Content you exported, saved to Photos, or shared with other apps is not deleted by deleting your Senda account.

Support messages and analytics records may be retained where reasonably necessary for support history, security, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, or aggregated product analysis.

Senda also handles Apple account deletion or consent-revocation notifications where applicable.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Grant or revoke HealthKit permissions in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.
  • Grant or revoke Motion, Camera, Photos, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Sign out or delete your account in Senda.
  • Choose whether to submit support messages or provide a reply email.
  • Avoid using optional sharing/export features.

Children’s Privacy

Senda is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International Processing

Senda and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on our website.
